ONCE UPON A TIME IN SYRIA

The exhibition shows private photographs of daily life in Syria before and beyond the breakout of the civil war. Syria is mainly known since 2011 as a war torn country, so the photographs add a new point of view of the country. 

The exhibition was developed in collaboration with people from Syria and hopes to start an interpersonal and intercultural discussion. It will be complemented with pictures and objects by Hamza Sharaf, student of architecture from Syria, Zahra Sohrabi from Iran and Mohamed Benferhat from Algeria. All are contributors to the Silent University Ruhr.
