Intercultural Men’s Matrix

The reality of contemporary German society is that there is multiculturalism, multilingualism and sociocultural diversity everywhere. In this context, there is a need to bring people from different cultural and sociolinguistic backgrounds together. To learn to live with one another, both the immigrant communities and the host communities. To show that together we are stronger than working individually.

Objectives

The Intercultural Women Empowerment Network, which was founded in 2016, has seen great success. As a result of this, we thought there is a need for the men to come together with similar objectives and even more. A coming together of men from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Cameroon, Syria, Kenya, and Germany reflects the realities of present-day German society. The relation between migrants and the host community in Germany is that of diversity. The SUR would like to demonstrate that it is possible to achieve harmony and unity among these dissimilar individuals or groups via the men's group. This men's group will focus not only on a unity based on a mere tolerance of physical, cultural, linguistic, social, religious, political, ideological and psychological differences but towards a more complex unity based on the understanding that difference enriches human interactions. During the Corona period, the men's group is meeting once every month (via zoom) to share their experiences. So far, these men have revealed that there is richness in diversity.
