Digital transformation during Covid-19

The Covid -19 pandemic has grounded the economy, political and medical activities and almost all forms of social coexistence since 2020. In many areas of everyday life we could not continue as before. At the same time, digital technologies are making it increasingly easy to stay in touch with friends and family or to work from home.

The Internet makes it possible to communicate and stay in touch through writing, voice, video and other forms of media exchange. Organizations and companies worldwide and across industries have repositioned themselves digitally to meet the needs of their customers, networks and stakeholders. Even after the COVID-19 crisis and for the future, it will remain crucial to keep up with the change towards increasing digitization.

In addition to the opportunities of digital transformation, we also see the danger that migrants, newcomers and refugees in particular will have to refresh and deepen their skills in dealing with modern technologies. There is a risk that they are not fully up to the challenges of digital change. That is why the Silent University Ruhr offers a training program that includes lectures, courses and workshops to improve their digital skills.

There is a need to empower migrants to achieve digital sustainability and re-adaptation during the Covid crisis and beyond to facilitate their full economic and social integration into contemporary German society. Therefore, the Silent University Ruhr will offer a training program on how to use computers and digital technologies, which will include lectures, courses and workshops.
