This series of workshops is made up of 4 meetings & seminars that expose a variety of artistic works and discuss how this might reflect cultural inclusivity. The meetings at the VHS will provide a safe space to discuss, learn, demonstrate and share approaches to different works of art.

These may include Tunisian calligraphy, Turkish water paintings, Iraqi hair accessories or traditional German hand knitting. In addition, participants will be offered the opportunity to discuss the topics raised in the different workshops in peer-led sessions.

Some of the topics covered may include:

  • Cultural belonging: what helps me feel like I belong?
  • What is the difference between the concept of representation and the concept of othering?
  • Cultural identity vs integration, traditional skills and their significance
  • How can these workshops & seminars demonstrate exploring and diversifying SUR and VHS networks?
