Vom 08. bis 10. November wird das Theater Ringlokschuppen Ruhr zu einem Versuchs-Labor.
Wir probieren zusammen aus:
- wie wir Gemeinschaften bilden können
- wie wir in Zukunft leben wollen
- wie Kunst uns dabei helfen kann
Wir führen Rituale durch. Wir hören Vorträgen zu. Wir diskutieren miteinander. Wir gucken Tänze an. Wir essen und trinken zusammen.
Wir beschäftigen uns mit den Folgen des Kolonialismus.
Kolonialismus bedeutet: ein Land erobert Gebiete in einem anderen Land mit Gewalt. Die Eroberer übernehmen die Macht in den Gebieten. Diese Gebiete nennt man dann Kolonien.
Sehr oft liegen die Kolonien weit entfernt auf einem anderen Kontinent. Viele Länder Europas hatten früher solche Kolonien vor allem in Asien, Afrika und Amerika. Wenn Länder so etwas machen, nennt man das “Kolonialismus”.
Im Jahr 1884 wurde fast ganz Afrika zwischen den Ländern Europas aufgeteilt.
Wir erinnern an diese Verbrechen. Wir fragen: welche Folgen hat diese Geschichte für uns heute?
Aber wir wollen auch Kraft schöpfen. Wir stellen uns eine gute Zukunft vor. Wir sammeln Hoffnung. Wir träumen. Wir kommen zusammen
Healing across Imaginative Spaces
What can the performing arts offer today in order to critically look back at history while also imagining the future?
Healing across Imaginative Spaces is a curated event where Ringlokschuppen Ruhr attempts to re-visit the notions of colonial heritage, geo-political trauma and socio-economic divisions. From 8 to 10 November, the theatre will become an imaginative space for discussions, performances, workshops and gatherings. Throughout these formats, we aim to experiment with the aesthetic and poetic possibilities for reconstructing communities that can be critical and revolutionary, without losing sight of the necessity for healing and transformation.
Healing across Imaginative Spaces departs from the memory of the Berlin conference 1884, however it is driven by hope in the future which could guide this artistic gathering towards becoming an imaginative ritual where the power of art and dreaming may advance the reality to create a potential moment of togetherness, repair and empowerment.
Join us during these three days for a collective and critical reconstruction of the past, a powerful gathering in the present, and a positively imaginative projection of the future.
