vier.zentrale collective Jamboree: A spectacular multicultural City Festival
vier.zentrale is a intercultural space in Mülheim an der Ruhr, symbolising unity and cultural diversity.
To celebrate this, the Silent University Ruhr is organizing a festival featuring multicultural performances, an African mask exhibition, and a panel discussion on colonial perceptions of African art.
The event aims to promote inclusivity and positive community development.
This captivating cultural event is composed of three inspiring parts:
1. Juju (Masquerade) Dance Procession
A traditional dance performance will take place, starting from Forum (Kurt-Schumacher-Platz/Schloßstraße1) and proceeding to vier.zentrale (Leineweberstraße 15–17).
2. Cultural Presentation
An insightful explanation of the spiritual and cultural significance of various traditional masks, exploring their roles in identity and tradition.
3. Panel Discussion
The event will conclude with a panel discussion titled: 'The Controversy of Colonial Perception: From “Devilish” to Display—The Journey of African Masks to Western Museums.'”
