Dreaming in Public
rsn & Robin Moedder
Sleep is one of the oldest community rituals — and at the same time, one of the most intimate moments we can share with others. Before sleep became a mostly private matter—locked away behind doors, separated by walls — it was a collective experience, bringing closeness, warmth, and protection. Today, sleep is often functionalized, isolated, and optimized.
Two Mülheim-based artists—ambient musician Thomas Rosen aka rsn and light and video artist Robin Moedder—create a counterpoint to this: We find a place in the room, listen, sleep, and dream together. Music, light, and video respond spontaneously to our bodies and moods. Sleep becomes a shared moment. An invitation to show our vulnerability together. And to dream sweetly together—for example, of choirs, swarms, and scattered collectives.Music: Thomas Rosen aka rsn
Light and video: Robin Moedder
rsn is an interdisciplinary art project by Thomas Rosen focusing on sound aesthetics, photography, and the design of sound objects. His work is self-sufficient and open to other artistic fields, focusing on the moment, process, and flow. Thomas Rosen studied media studies at the Ruhr University Bochum. As rsn, he pursues a DIY approach with high quality standards and emphasizes the importance of networking and collaboration. His photographs are often abstract and explore the interaction of light with surfaces, material textures, and the interplay of shadows and reflections. rsn's visual art and music aim to transform perception and materiality by creating a strong immersion through a focus on the here and now. His work follows the tradition of abstract photography and focuses on the viewer's aesthetic perceptual experience.
Robin Moedder is an interdisciplinary media artist (video/lighting/cover design) living in the Ruhr region. He works at the interface of video, light, and sound. His projects include audiovisual performances, video installations, and experimental film formats, often in collaboration with musicians and creative artists. Moedder regularly designs light and video installations for concerts and festivals.
