OPEN CALL - REIMAGINING SOCIETY
OPEN CALL UNTIL FEBRUARY 9th, 2026 | FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th, 2026
The HundertPro Festival 2026 is looking for your artistic contributions!
For the seventh edition of this festival for up-and-coming artists from the independent art and culture scene, we are looking for works from all over Germany on the topic of:
REIMAGINING SOCIETY
Outside, the fronts are hardening. Social insecurity, classism and racist narratives are being openly articulated. The ‘cityscape’ is being declared a problem. The political winds are blowing harder, the social climate is getting colder, and the word ‘we’ is being used more often to draw boundaries instead of opening doors. We are told that we must accept social ‘realities’.
We say: reality is negotiable!
The HundertPro Festival Vol.7 refuses to bury its head in the sand. We see theatre as a place where things are not only depicted as they are, but also explored as they could be. Society, like the city, is a constructed world: the result of decisions, agreements and power lines. And everything that is constructed can also be constructed differently. At least for the duration of a festival. And perhaps for the time afterwards.
We invite you to hack, overwrite and reimagine familiar social images. We are not looking for further diagnoses of the crisis, but rather blueprints for hope. We need your imagination as an antidote to exclusion and isolation.
100 poles instead of two fronts:
Where politics polarises, we want to diversify. We are not looking for either/or, but for ‘and’ and the 100 shades in between. We want to transform the Ringlokschuppen into a social laboratory, a dream machine for possible futures.
We are looking for works from across the country that ask questions:
- What would our living and social spaces look like if they were designed according to our wishes rather than constraints? Show us utopian loopholes. Your imagination is the law. Turn the stage into a testing ground for futures that no one knows yet.
- What stories do your bodies carry – of joy, resistance, care or failure? What invisible chronicles of social coexistence can be embodied?
- What happens when belonging is not created by origin, passport or norm, but by attention and resonance? How can we conceive of a ‘we’ that includes more than it excludes?
- What needs to become visible that has remained invisible until now? What colours are missing in the grey of the asphalt? Which voices do we need to listen to more closely, which writings need to be printed in bolder type?
Who can apply?
Whether performance, dance, theatre, installation, stand-up comedy, cabaret, physical theatre, new circus or participatory formats: we are looking for young artists who want to celebrate difference not as a threat but as a resource. Bring your visions, your doubts, your courage, but above all your hope.
Let's create spaces where we can be both strangers and friends, where we'd rather dance together than be afraid apart.
The situation is serious – so let's have a party!
