Shiny Toys 2017
Shiny Toys is the festival for auditory, visual and audio-visual art in the Ruhr Region. Every year the stages at the Ringlokschuppen Ruhr become home to the latest experimental activities by regional and international artists from a diverse range of disciplines. This is the seventh time where a platform is created at the interfaces between analogue and digital technologies. A marathon of events comprising performance, experimental design, installations and experimental music.
This year the festival is also showcasing a series of experimental films by long term resident of Mulheim, Werner Nekes, who died quite recently. He made a great impression on Christoph Schlingensief and Helge Schneider and was a true inspiration for many young artists at the festival.
