Frauen Empowerment

THE INTERCULTURAL ACADEMIC WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT NETWORK which is a part of the Silent University Ruhr, aims to draw attention to realities of what femicide and gender-based violence against females look like in our society. FEMICIDE is a global crime against womankind. Femicide is a sex-based hate crime broadly defined as "The intentional killing of females (women or girls) because they are females” (Russel 1976).

In this presentation we reiterate that this gender-based violence against females is a profound global injustice. Ours is an awareness campaign focused on a propagation of a sociocultural change in our society. This Awareness Campaign is geared at opening the eyes of the public, creating a space for everyone to live freely without fear- both MEN & WOMEN.
