Shadow Survivors
Zora Snake
The dancer and choreographer Zora Snake searches with his collective in Yaoundé for new ways of expression between contemporary dance, traditional Cameroonian dances and hip-hop. After many years of cooperation with various collectives, such as kainkollektiv, and award ceremonies (Golden Artistic Awards 2019), Snake performs for the fourth time at Ringlokschuppen Ruhr with his new work Shadow Survivors. Shadow Survivors is a vehicle to update the history of freedom struggles under a decolonial prism and make them visible in the context of the global north.
Content Warning: The play deals with the topic of sexualised violence.
Additional note: The use of magnesium powder may lead to increased fine dust pollution in the auditorium during the performance.
