Die letzte Königin II
Edith Voges Nana Tchuinang
"Die letzte Königin II"(The Final Queen II) is an evening that brings people together to experience and learn with each other. Édith Nana and her team invite you to a traditional "Soirées Conte". During this "storytelling evening", the audience receives much-needed information and spiritual advice through music, dance and spoken texts. Each element of the performance has its own important meaning.
The group thus attempts to decolonise the traditions of theatre through rituals, enlightenment and visions of the future and to free themselves from the colonial past. By bringing together oral history and contemporary theatre, the group succeeds in writing urgently needed new stories of black women.
History repeats itself and I suffocate. History repeating itself suffocates me. And I have to play it: Caliban, a deformed being who is only good for housework.
I have to play this!
The little mermaid: one who has a dream; the dream of becoming human.
I have to play it: the slave, the beggar, the poor,
I have to play that! And only that!
The hero's helper, the first to die...
I have to play that ... and only that ...?
I don't want that anymore!
