Aftermath

There are events in one's life that can change everything. Sudden, unpredictable turning points, after which a return to the way things were is no longer possible and the effects for the future are not yet foreseeable. Lives, societies, and even history itself are no longer the same.  

Can these moments be invoked, manifested as gestures or language, in our bodies or through media? With dance, language, sound, and image, Mashaherifard's collective addresses this phenomenon of the in-between time.  

Amirhossein Mashaherifard is a young artist from Tehran who studied at the Iranian capital's prestigious Soore University. In recent years, he studied scenic research at Ruhr University Bochum and is a co-founder of the performance collective tehran re:public.
