Odyssee - Musik der Metropolen

Four venues in the Ruhr valley play host to these concerts every summer to what has now become one of the best frequented Festivals for global music. The Festival ODYSSEE: Music of the Metropolises, financed and transmitted across the world by WDR COSMO, will stage twelve magical concerts with vibrant music. This year will host charismatic bands that not only provide pulsating crossover beats but also have taken a courageous stand against discrimination, racism and violence – with powerful sounds, hypnotising rhythms, ingenious fusions. Urban sounds for the senses - as always open air and for free.

For the past twenty-five years the global music truck has been travelling in the Ruhr Valley. ODYSSEE: Music of the Metropolises has established itself as an important musical platform for an international feeling in this area. In addition to the partners in Hagen, Recklinghausen, Bochum and Mülheim and WDR COSMO, financial support has been provided by: Ministry for Culture and Science in North Rhine Westphalia, Regional Cultural Programme for NRW, NRW KULTURsekretariat (Wuppertal), Kulturbüro Bochum and Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen.
