SHETalks WETalk RaceTalks Women Workshop

A powerful and transformational workshop when women come together to talk productively about race and racism so they can create PROGRESS instead of PAIN as they share their experiences about racism. It's a one-day workshop where 3 -4 women group come together to share experiences and learn how to be strong and effective as immigrants.

This is not a sit and take notes workshop. Women will be actively engaged for one whole day they will move out of their comfort zone and examine their own beliefs, thoughts and behaviours that perpetuate racism. These women will take a deep, honest and truthful dive in the issues of race, racism, whiteness, white supremacy and Intersectionality.

In a world that directly and indirectly tells People of Colour they are not worthy, qualified, invited, beautiful or valued, we must deny EVERY restriction, affliction, prediction, and depiction that causes us to stay captive, be unhealed, silence our voice, doubt our value and minimize our existence.

A healing discussion/conversation about race, racism, equality and LIBERATION

This workshop is a conversation space where we can come together, speak our truth, be heard without shame or blame, and not have to explain or prove our experiences or justify our existence.

Vera Atwell-De Nobrega wurde 1979 in Lengerich, Deutschland geboren. Die studierte
Diplom-Betriebswirtin war viele Jahre im Management in der Karibik tätig. Dort heiratete sie
und bekam zwei Kinder. Als sie 2011 mit ihrer Familie nach Deutschland zurückkehrte, hatte
sie einen kompletten Neustart vor sich: Wohnungssuche, Karriere, “Integration” ihrer Familie
in die deutsche Gesellschaft. Seit 2018 ist Vera Atwell-De Nobrega als Mindset-Coach,
Empowerment-Trainerin und Kulturmittlerin mit ihrer Firma FarbPracht
(www.farbpracht.com) tätig. Als Expertin für mentale Stärke und "Anderssein" verhilft sie
gesellschaftlich unterschätzten Menschen zu einem selbstbestimmteren und glücklicheren
Leben.

Die Programmreihe "Das Problem heißt Rassismus!" wird vom Ringlokschuppen Ruhr & dem Bahnhof Langendreer Bochum & dem Literaturbüro Ruhr gemeinsam veranstaltet. Die Reihe setzt sich mit Rassismus in seinen verschiedenen, auch mit anderen Macht- und Gewaltverhältnissen verwobenen, Formen auseinander und zeigt Möglichkeiten des aktiven Handelns, des Widerstands und Empowerments auf.
